I'm shooting a mini documentary about tagging and some of the interviewees dont want their faces seen in the movie due to the fact that what they are doing is illegal.

How do i blur out their faces? I have FCP(if you could tell me how to do it in FCP it would be more helpful) and adobe after effects (not installed yet)

In After Effect duplicate the footage in the composition. Apply a blur (doesn't matter which one) to the top footage and then use the Pen tool to cut a mask around the area you want to blur out. Now go into the Mask Properties and feather the mask by a few pixels to get rid of the sharp edges. Toggle the Mask shape key frame (the clock symbol next to the property) and move the points on the mask as the people move. It's the same principle in Final Cut although I don't know if FCP has a Garbage Matte effect.
