It looks like you might be scaling them instead of rendering them at the right resolution. Are you sure you have them in vector or native format?
In addition to that, you might want to try applying a small amount of blur to attempt your own anti-aliasing. Perhaps you'll want to render them in a comp of double resolution, blur in there and then downscale back in your original comp, could help, but it's a bit of a nasty hack...

Vector formats are things like drawing in Illustrator. But that won't help you here. Fonts in AE are fully vectored, until you pre-compose them or use them in another comp. Then they have to be rendered to pixels in order to appear in that other layer and as a result any size/scale operations on that comp will show anti-aliasing issues. Solutions to this generally involve not scaling comps that have text on them. Or put your text in a giant comp at a size much, much larger than it will ever need and scale it down. Scaling down works fine.

Depends on what exactly you are trying to do, but here's a simple test you can do to see the difference:

Make a text layer using a large font.
Duplicate the layer and pre-compose the duplicate.
Now go in and scale both the pre-comp layer (not the font inside the pre-comp) and the original layer up a whole lot.
Now toggle the two layers on and compare the difference. The one that is pre-composed will be all jagged, the one that is still a font layer will be smooth.

This is what happens when you have text inside a another comp. It has to be rasterized, and will be done at whatever the size of that comp is. So any scaling will expose the fact the text was done at a smaller size.

is this screenshot made from 100% view? that effect occurs sometimes if the viewer is set to "FIT" and therefore ends up in a weird percentage count. E.g. 67,798% try 100%, then you'll know if it is your fault or AE's.
