How do I achieve this look?

I'm using FCP v6.04

I'm trying to mimic the look of this clip. It looks like sepia tone but really desaturated. Everything I've tried looks wildly different. Not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, the edges are blurred a little in the corners. I've played around with all the mattes and blurs I can but can't recreate the effect. What video filters should I be using to replicate?

Thanks

i dont have a clue actually.
but it looks like a small amount of bloom effect and some vignetting effect. i would have tried to achieve that in motion3 using vignetting effect in combination with compound blur...
but i am wild guessing...
i guess its just a trial and fail thing until you succed in the end:)

Here's what I'd do...

Start with a SEPIA filter and change the color. My default is a yellow brown. Lower the LUMA slider on the right (Up and down) toward black. Get it close.

Then add a 3-way color corrector and adjust your whites and blacks...

Then, push your MIDS color dot around until you get a good look. Maybe adjust your highs and lows too, but also slide your saturation slider around up and down to get it closer.

As for the vignetting... I use a simple OVAL shape under the VIDEO GENERATORS/SHAPE and put that an upper video layer. Soften up the edges (make sure you are watching it on an external monitor if this is going to be seen anywhere else but the web (because you'll need to make it thicker than you think to get past the overscan)). Then change the COMPOSITE MODE (right click) on the SHAPE layer to MULTIPLY.

Good luck.
