How do Hackinoshes work with Final Cut?

I would strongly suggest building a PC and then using CS6 - you're going to have way less headaches putting a system together and maintaining/servicing it.

If you know what you're doing and you can follow instructions well, it'll work out fine. If you're unsure of it, I wouldn't do it. Here's a system I built earlier this year and it just screams. Never have any issues with Final Cut or CS5.5 at all.

Processor: Intel Core i7-2600
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3
Graphics Card: Radeon HD 6850 1GB
Power Supply: Corsair TX750
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3
Boot Drive: 120GB OCZ Agility 3 SSD
Working Drive: 2TB Western Digital "Green"
Disc Drive: Pioneer BDR206
Case: Antec One
Monitors: 24" Samsung LED SyncMaster SA300 + 22" Samsung SyncMaster T200
OS: Lion OSX 10.7.3

Thank you. I'll look at that site.

I used to build PCs before jumping to apple. Will prob still have a macbookpro.
Ugh, This could mean I'm moving to premiere before fcpX.

The problem of Hackinstosh is the updates, and you need to buy certain hardware. If you can have a heavy config for PC, use PC. FCP is discontinued, so, future you will use another NLE software which is PC based (Premiere, Avid ...)

i've also made a mackintosh, somewhat based off tonymac combined with other sites and research. I highly recommend a solid state drive during the build. It'll save you a lot of money to build your own computer and you'll get to learn a lot and also use that saved money to buy a nice monitor.

also built one a month ago, i7 3930k hexacore overclocked to 4,2 Ghz and Nvidia GTX570 puts me inbetween 8 core and 12 core mac pro for 1700€, runs stable and quiet :) if you have an iMac you can even connect it and use it as additional Display via DP :)
