Well let me you how I stumble apoun this site. I was busy checking out porn and acidently type DVX instead of XXX, and well this site popped up. Theres a lot of nasty things that go on in here. Kidding people. I was actually researching about the PS-techniik and clicked a bunch of links which landed me here. I just notice i've only been here for 2 months and I'm already platnium. Well 80% of my post has the word beeatch in it.
edit: excusse my spellings because I'm a horrible typer and of course spellar. okay spelt that wrong on purpose. Speller.
i BOUGHT the xl1s, and had it for like 2 years. it took me a while to get going...i mostly just shot a ton of "tests" then finaly i got the courage to shoot a story or 2. anyway i searched and searched and came across dvinfo.net. signed up and was a regular there for like 4-5 months...then i was second cameraman on a little pilot for fox, that was using dvx's...i also did some vfx stuff for them and got to see how great the quality of the dvx footage was...progressive..i was like "whoa"...so i did some research on dvinfo.net...found the dvxuser.com sight...i didnt signup for it, i just lurked a bit, i think it was about the time when matt mcd was just found by someone cause i remember a thread called "look at this kids work" or something....anyway, i for some reason didnt think i should sign up to the dvxuser sight untell i bought a dvx...so when i bought a dvx i think i signed up like the next day. started shooting some shite with it and posting .....
I saw an ad for the DVX100 in filmmaker magazine and I remembered the tagline: "Make a movie, make a living...exclusive cine-switch technology" Didnt intrigue me, but as I spent hours researching for a camera, the DVX kept popping up. Then I went to Rich-lee's site, and was blown away by his work...I found out that he uses the DVX. And then I found dvxuser.com and lurked around for a month or two before I finally decided....IT WAS TIME
so I gave Rush my green and he gave me the camera and i havent left dvxusre since
I started out at 2-pop way back when it seemed to have more of a purpose. (Just my opinion. It seems to have suffered during its evolution) I was looking for cameras and after seeing the comparison DVD shot by Noah Kadner and David Mullen I was blown away by the DVX. I picked up my camera in February 2003. I remember seeing a link to DVXUSER on Zoomforce's profile over at 2-pop. I lurked around for awhile, things were a lot quieter back then.
After 2-pop underwent it's last cosmetic change I made the switch to DVXUSER and haven't looked back. Every now and again I'll cheat and head over to DVINFO, but I've always felt that DVINFO was more videographer oriented while DVXUSER has felt like a community of filmmakers. I don't really laugh while looking at DVINFO either. DVXUSER is just more chill.
Sometimes I waste my time here but a lot of the time it's a learning experience.

Still have the debt, but no longer the job. [/quote]
Well, you still have the camera, which of course is a nice thing, right? A little joy is sweet thing.
All the best--
