Im impatiently awaiting the arival of my letus extreme starter Bundle. And Living in michigan and all I have limited things places to shoot because of the snow but i have lovely scenery. Is the letus built for cold temps anyone shot below 30 degrees. and best acclamation proccess. same for a camera? zip lock bag and all.

I shoot with an M2, and when I shoot in cold temps (5 degrees or colder) my motor slows down a bit. But I rarely go out when it's that cold anyways. It's a combination of the battery being cold and the motor being cold I think. I'd assume it would be the same for any other adapter, spinning gg or vibrating.

I dont think i would ever take it out into 5 degrees. But I know that from experience with my camera that cold plays a big part on battery life and power. My concern was really like a camera should I acclamate it when I bring it in. And this slipped my mind i doubt there is a rain coat for the adapter. Has everyone just covered it up with plastic and velcro, or just shot with it uncovered.

I have had my Lex in a gear van overnight in 15 degree weather. When we brought it inside it had frost on the lex. We gave it an hour to adjust to indoor temps and it was fine.

I would not make a habit of that but it was fine.

I like the sounds of that. I want to work on getting to know my adapter before spring hits. And I dont want to be afraid to take it outside. Does it sound ass backwards to get a shoulder mount instead of a new tripod right now because of the price, and since im waiting for tax returns.

i shoot handheld more than on tripod these days, so yeah, get both, but for now if you can, shoulder rig is amazing.

i shot for 4 days in -15 celsius. no problems

Isn't that low temperature problem for a camera also??

Would some fur cover helped??

(that wind don't lower gadget temperature even more )

Just an idea..

I think of shoulder mounts the same as adapters.
For these awkward rigs it's very much a specialty item and personal taste.
It will be much harder to rent than a good tripod.

I havent heard of anyone using fur to insulate there camera to keep it warm before. Im sure people have. I just would like to know how people are keeping there adapter from getting wet. As far as it goes for a shoulder rig, I've been looking cavisions dual handgrip rig. The price seems right.

I like those. That seems to be a great alternative to a rainslicker. A little costly. but what isnt. I feel like my whole life is spending every dime on little things for my camera. Im glad i dont have a kid because i dont think it would get anything. Unless you could retro fit it with a 35 mm adapter.

Reminds me of the days when I am shooting Super8 with my Leicina Special. It was so cold (10-20degrees Farenheit) that the camera stops running and kinda freaks me out. The next time I went our with that camera, I had heating packs in my camera bag, and I paste hand/foot warmers onto the camera itself, looks kinda goofy but works.
