How can one recreate these videos?

Hey, so I just stumbled along this awesome site:

Where some Parisian dude has filmed and recorded the sound of various indie bands performing in Paris. The environments are strange, from a song in a gig to walking down the street to in a small cafe.

I was wondering if anyone could suggest how we'd get such awesome video. I guess we're talking HD and it doesn't look progressive. (Note: I don't know what camera the guy used) The videos look really distinctive, the colours are great.

They look kinda cross processed to me, or at least cross processed how I do it in photoshop. I don't really know colour in Vegas.

Would you please take a look at the videos are offer some comments. They're inspiring to me to record something similar with London artists but I wouldn't know how to get the awesome look.

The third video has a shot of the videographer in the mirror incidentally, and you can see the camera. I can't make out what it is but it could be an HVX.
