Hello,

At the present time, I am using camstudio to get HD quality captured screen videos. Not bad especially since it is free but when you zoom in even a bit the quality is not very good.

What do professional documentary's use when they are showing footage from a computer screen?

I am aware of fraps but that does not for 2D programs. It only works for video and games.

Are there any other options out there?

Camtasia does nice quality but only at 720p.

A lot of the time you see people just filming LCD monitors. They use that technique a lot of news stories. Could that be an option for you?

That is a great idea. I have not thought of that. But at the present time I do not have a LCD monitor. Anything specific I should look at when buy an LCD monitor for such a purpose?

I will probably be doing screen captures in the future too.

Thanks for the tip.

The main problem here is generally speaking, most screen res aren't over 1920x1080. So if you change the screen res to somethine heigh or equal ti 1920x1080, you'll be fine.
