Could you please let me know if there is way of capturing a single image for usage within Photoshop?

What is the best way to capture as many pixle? Shoudl this be done outside FCP?

Thanking everyone in advance

I usually make a freeze frame of the clip in FCP then export it out as a Jpeg file. Then open it up in Photoshop. I am sure they are other ways to do it but it works fine for me.

If you load the clip into the viewer, then go to File > Export > Using Quicktime Conversion. Then from the second to last pulldown menu, you should be able to chose Still Image from the list there. Then from the options chose like PNG, TGA, or TIFF (all uncompressed options) for sending out the still image. Remember this will be based upon which FCP window you have active when you use the Export command (so if you have the viewer active then it will use the frame in there, if you have the timeline active it will use the frame in there).

Cheers.
