How *bad* is the Panny shotgun mic ?

Here in Europe the Sennheiser K6-P / ME 66 is 80 % more expensive than the MC100-G shotgun... about which I've read some pretty negative comments. Is it really that bad ? Or even worse ? ;) ???

OK I've decided to get an AT 897 and I'll keep you posted about my first tests...

i'm personally looking forward to your thoughts on the AT. thanks for posting.

and if you have any first-hand experience w/ the senn and how it compares to the AT as well, that would be most useful info!

We were silently hoping you'd change your mind. It sounds like you made a good choice--definitely let us know how it works out for you.

I use the panny mic because it is all we could afford, being a student filmmaker. I love it and have had no complaints so far. :)
