-House Of Flying Daggers-

Re: -House Of Flying Daggers-

The cinematography in that film is gorgeous - the same way you can become immune to intense violence, you become immune to great cinematography after watching this film. There's so much of it, you can't help but stop caring about it half way through...it's that good!

Re: -House Of Flying Daggers-

A very good film indeed. Although I didn't think it was as good as CTHD, or Hero. It is every bit as pretty. And some decent fight scenes too.

Re: -House Of Flying Daggers-

Very good film. I watched it after watching Casshern and The Twins Effect 2(A mini asian filmfest all by my lonesome since my friends despise subtitles). Out of the 3 Casshern stands out the most. HoFD is a beautiful film, and he fights scenes rocked. I don't want to throw any spoilers out for those who have not seen it, but wait til you see the guy break out his bow. Some slick stuff in that scene.

Re: -House Of Flying Daggers-

I preferred it to Hero - as much as people argue with me about it, I found Hero to be very over-stylized. HoFD is much less so, and the cinematography is much more naturalistic, while being even more beautiful

Hard to argue with that. Although both films are very stylized.
However, I think the story in Hero is stronger. and most certainly when it comes to the endings of the two films, Hero is much stronger. I almost started to laugh when I watched the ending of HoFD.
