Hour long video on Vimeo

[Jimmy Pierce]

I have 6 videos that are each between 60 and 75 minutes that will be going online. They are all SD. I am using Compressor but I also have Media Encoder if need be. Vimeo's basic account offers 500MB a week. I have one video down to 1GB and it pixelates.

Any suggestions in finding the right mixture of settings to keep it at a decent quality and under 500MB?

Thanks in advanced

I was hoping that a thread like this already existed but I couldn't find it.

You could use Youtube? 2 gig limit per file with no limit on total uploads (or if there is I don't know about it).

As far as a video showing quality issues. I saw a video talking about various encoders and "Compressor" didn't get very good review.

A 75 minutes in video in HD with a file size under 1 gig sounds like a tall order. I know you will need to use VBS for sure (variable bit rate). If you were using Sony Vegas I could probably help more.

Why don't you try Sorenson Squeeze 7.0 ? I've converted a 4.3 gig video file down to ~200mb using MP4360p (16X9) aspect ratio within Squeeze...
