Hour Glassing

...is happening when I pull a project onto the timeline.
Project includes MXF files, .AVI files, PNG stills.
Load OK (though it takes forever) but when I move the cursor or click the mouse or ShuttlePRO the hour glass appears, and Vegas Pro 10d hangs and hangs.
What do you suspect, a corrupt file, mixing MXF and .AVI, an HDD that's about to blow?
Stymied here.
Looking for some direction to diagnose and remedy.

Vegas 10 may well be the most annoying, bug-filled version of Vegas yet (though I skipped 9). Started out with so much promise, but after editing a major project in it, I know exactly what you're saying -- and previous versions of Vegas didn't have these problems.

Unfortunately, I have no solution at this time. Not sure there's anything you can set or reconfigure -- I think it's just buggy.

Maybe I should go back to 8 or 9, but can I do that now? I think not.

6 was super solid
9 is decently solid (better than 8)

I've not messed with 10 yet...

6 was still buggier than 5, the last truly great upgrade.
