hey guys I'm looking for a web site or a place where i can get real hott sound fx and music back grounds. i was looking at the parates of the caribbean movie trailor and i was suck in but the music. where can i find music like that. I've been on a lot of sites and I they don't have the music that I"m looking for. if you guys know any sites out there that check out it would be really kool. thanks

I use dewolfemusic.com for most of my tunage. They use real musicians, not some dude with a keyboard and a multitracker. They haggle too. I am able to pay one blanket fee for an entire production rather then per needledrop.
You can download free sound effects. Just do a quick search. You'll find all kinds of sites like sounddogs but much of the time you'll find t's faster to just create or record yor own.

I use firstcom.com

There's also freeplaymusic.com, which has an easier licensing agreement and you can download them free.

" They use real musicians, not some dude with a keyboard and a multitracker. "

sometimes the dude with the keyboard IS a musician and can sound amazing!!.. its theses munters using "orch preset 23 "button that making it bad for the creative dudes.

depends on the talent of the dude... i doubt people think "just a dude with keyboard and a multitracker "when they listen to "Bladerunner" or "Chariots of fire" soundtracks!

but sometimes a brother needs a distorted quitar with unlooped riffs.
organic is good every now and again.

I am searching for some cool movie trailer sound effects, but I cannot find anything... Could you help me?

You have to sign up, as you would with a forum like this, but there is no fee or anything. There are a TON of sounds, all donated by people (most of which have great knowledge of mics and the production end of audio) for the sake of sharing. Everything is free, and that's the point. There are great descriptions of each sound, how it was recorded, with what mic, what bit depth and sampling rate, and there are not only sound effects, but pads, drum loops, just about everything.

I pimp the hell out of this site because it is a community where people donate and share sounds for free. The only stipulation is if you find a sound you like for your movie, video or whatever, you simply credit the person who donated it.

Great site, and expanding all the time with new people and new sounds. I've donated my share, and I'de tell you my screen name so you could hear some of them, but I'll hold that back and make you search a little.

There is also http://www.findsounds.com/ which is a totally free site, with a nifty search engine and even has a nifty utility that takes a sound, analyzes it, and allows you to search from that utility. You could even take your computer mic, make the kind of sound you are looking for with your voice, and the utility would analyze that and go. I've found dog barking sounds, metal screeching, by simply recording my voice . I've even found some obscure music buy humming it, and it located songs of the like that were around. It's also a great site.

Where excatly does it say who you give credit to? Just the username can't seem to find it :(?

If you find a sound, when you click on it to download it, another page will open with a more detailed explination of the file, and who uploaded it. You just credit the username of the person who uploaded it, and the site itself.

The movie "children of men" used a sound file from them and here is a pic of the credits:

That's how you would credit.
