On red colors, I am noticing a heinous amount of mosaic blockiness in Vegas 7.0d, in the preview window. It was bad on my old Dell CRT monitor, and I just lived with it. But it's become absolutely atrocious on a brand new LCD (1900x1200, DVI connection). I mean the pixel blocks are around 10x10 pixels. I am vieweing at full resolution at the Best setting.
What gives? The original footage is SD, 16x9, 30F, Canon A1 footage. The problem isn't visible on the original footage viewed on a regular CRT television. Nor is it visible in my captured footage viewed on an NTSC studio monitor via firewire and S-Video linkup.
So why does my Vegas preview have so much trouble displaying these glowing reds? Especially on an LCD, but also on my old Dell CRT monitor?
