Horizontal Through The Wall Transition

Trying to figure out the best way to pull off a room to room transition. Left to right horizontal. Think Aerosmith/Run DMC (it's pretty common, but that's the one that came to mind.)

Obviously, no soundstage or set. The two rooms are in two different locations. I don't think I'll have a doorway, either, which presents the problem. I can truck the camera all the way to the right wall in the first room, then start flush with the left wall in the second, and throw in some black or maybe even a texture in AE between them. But flush to the wall is not going to get the angle I need to give the appearance of actually passing through.

Maybe do a little pan when I get to the wall? No. that won't really do it, either, will it? That would be like going backwards.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You could set your footage up to slide in horizontally in AE. I haven't tried this, but I think it could work. Something like this:

Timing might be a PITA, but with some effort, this could probably work.

I would approach it the same way Rob would, as shown above.

Another thought would be to instead of using the wall, what about a piece of furniture or a shelf, or something that is otherwise movable and you can get behind? Or maybe even a window?

I attempted a shot like that a while ago for a contest and though it may not look the best, I still learned a lot from it. I didn't have any track, tripod, or anything, so it was all handheld. If you have access to some kind of dolly, I'd definitely recommend it haha (even if its only DIY...)
So I just bent my knees and opened my legs real wide, and held my camera close to me and just shifted my body left to right to make it as smooth as possible. And make sure that the speed of the movement is as consistent as possible... Then in post, I just kinda stitched them together with changing the opacity and just played around with it until it got to where I wanted it to be. I used After Effects by the way. Speed was another issue because I felt like it was moving too slowly in between walls, so I just sped that up in post as well. Don't really know what else to tell you haha, but since I can't show the video on here because of the contest terms I can show you a snippet from my showreel. Watch from 00:58-1:23

Now again, I know it may not be the best example but hope it helps anyways!
