It, even, could be possible to build a crane with 4 bars instead of 2. This way it could go up and down also, always looking ahead.

Interesting concept and good work. I don't think the movement replaces a slider when comparing tracking shots though. It doesn't look like the the pivoting of the crane can keep the camera to subject distance consistent. There is also the question about push and pulls.

I agree on that one. But the idea wasn't bad: one device for both needs/shots.
But I prefer a real slider. Mine is lightweight and easily transportable and adjustable. Total cost isn't bad and building it doesn't require expert DIY skills.
