Sorry if these have been addressed & I missed. But under tite time constraints and using rental HVX that I've shot a little with before. Will continue to research this, but
figured I'd post and maybe some one will know----

Set up is HVX200, 2 - 8 gig cards, Fire Store 100. Client wants 1080.

Questions:
-will Fire Store record 1080? Or just 720?
-possible to dump P2 contents from camera to FireStore (after record to P2)
rather than how I have done it thru Power Book?
-possible to dump Fire Store straight to a HD in the field w/o a computer to
interface between the two?
-finally, possible to dump P2 contents from camera straight to G5 say? Do the
P2's show up like when in the PCM slots on Power Book?

Thanks in advance. I'm gonna be tearing thru the manuals soon as possible, but figured I'd ask.

anything the camera spits out except the PN frame rates, but will do those soon

yes but why? Powerbook method is much more reliable and less quirky to set up. Get the P2 Genie, it's great for 25 bucks.

I think so but I have never done so. May involve using the camera in host mode. Matt from Focus is your guy here.

It will NEVER support PN because the HVX doesn't send any data to the DV port in any of the native modes.

What the FS-100 will do soon with the 3.0 firmware (which isn't free, by the way) is perform automatic pulldown so it doesn't record the duplicate frames.
 
The PN in the $39 version 3.0 upgrade will do native, and it will be indistiquishable from the P2 card recorded native.

You can not dump from a P2 card to the FS-100. You can only dump from the FS-100 to your local hard drive on your computer. This FS-100 mounts as a regular Firewire drive. It won't dump to a stand alone hard drive as the HVX itself can. P2 Geine rocks, be warry of P2 Log.

When you connect the camera to your computer, the P2 cards show up as hard drives. Drag and drop copy.
 
I know its off topic but can the FS-100 be used to record a mini-dv signal from any standard mini-dv camera?

Just incase I would want to use the Firestore with an older camera.
