Hope I have bought OK!

Thanks. thought I got a good deal.
What's the Lectrosonics M-150 lavalier like? A load of crap like the Sennheiser ones which come with the ew112 G2 or better? Also picked up a TRAM 50 for a few pounds. Don't know anything about it other than it works fine. yet to receive it to test and see.

do you know if the area you plan to use them has free RF congestion within Block 33? I notice the seller did not print the blk but came from a question.

That was a good deal... and with the 100mW transmitter you should be solid as a rock on most shoots! That's a lot of muscle behind the TX (yeah a G2 is only 30mW at best)... and I had a m150 lav... it 'aint so bad. I could hardly tell the difference between that and the Tram. The TR50 was a little more bass and maybe a little more detail... but I didn't think it was a big difference. I was impressed with the Lectro lav. The only reason I sold it was to get full Tram sets (for all the mounting options).

I live in the countryside in the south of England and will be filming with probably not another camera crew within miles of me. I don't think I need worry about that! If it was being used for news then it could be an issue, but it's not.

Thats good news. With the serach feature currently dissabled on here it was difficult to know whether the final price was a good one. The seller said he paid £1175 for the kit, but sometimes you have to take that with a pinch of salt.

So I now have a spare G2 setup. It goes on Ebay tonight if anyone is interested. Perfect condition and I will post worldwide. I take Paypal!

You might want to edit that listing... that's not a G2 set. This is an EW112G2:

And this is an EW112:

Well the Lectrosonics 110's arrived this morning and I have had a good play with them. Innitial thoghts are they sound fantastic. About the same size as the ew112, and the included Lectro 150 mic sounds really sweet, though I dooubt if I will be using it too much in a feature as it's almost impossible to hide.

One thing the ew112 kicks ass over the Lectro though is frequency changing. On the sennheiser its all nice and easy with a digital interface. On the Lecro its almost impossble to see tiny little nobs that you need a magnifying glass and a printed manual spec sheet to know what the hell frequency you just switched it to. Very poor design, and here Lectro are not even on the same ball park as the Sennheiser.

However, it's sound quality that counts and on this front the Lectro delivers in bucket loads,

By the way my Sennheiser 112 is still available on ebay, and I have just lowered the price to £220. Now that is a bargain!

Since you got the 100mW transmitter I think you'll be happy. All the guys getting the 50mW LM transmitters aren't gaining much on an ordinary G2... some yes... but I detailed the same list of pros/cons that you just mentioned... I sold my Lectro 100 w/ 50mW because it's no comparison with the G2 ease of setup. I don't see how Lectro can look at a G2 and not do something about the state of the 100.

Sure, in performance it kicks ass... and really that's all that matters... but if Sennheiser ever offers 100mW in a consumer wireless Lectro will disappear into the very highest end market... overnight.

Lectro's only weakness is the interface... and the G2's only weakness is the lack of balls. Either company could dominate the $1K price zone by addressing their design weaknesses.

matt, that was so simply and perfectly put i think im going to cry. To me, thats the best way to put that comparison.

plus, its fun to tease sennheiser about not having balls. ;)
