hooking up ext. mon.

i've ****ed with this long enough. (deep breath). Ahhh.... I had done some research on this site and found really nothing that gives a "step by step" process of "Hook Up" arrangement for an external monitor.

My condition:

My DELL comp. monitor is an HDTV as well. None the less, it operates strictly as just the monitor. It has a "composite out" (y/w/r) rca's.

Is it possible to connect from that to an externel 13" TV as i watch my edits?

All of my footage has been "captured". Im in "editing mode" now and would like to see it bigger than 2.0" screen. Can someone post some advice to how i can view my edits and scenes in real time/ or as i edit.... in "PLAIN ENGLISH" please!

Don't Get off on technicalities please!!! Vegas offers that "preview" window, so, if you don't mind, all I ask is, just get me from that to the EXTERNAL TV HOOK UP!! Thanks!!!!!!!
 
No - The monitor is NOT going to down-convert your computer signal to a NTSC signal for a regular TV monitor.
Sorry to "Get off on technicalities" but to get your preview window out to a NTSC monitor you need to hook up your camera via firewire, then take the composite outputs of the camera to your monitor. Basically you would be using the camera to convert firewire digital to analog composite.
