I suppose if you're shooting in bright sunlight, and don't want to use the viewfinder, it is helpful.

I built a viewfinder adapter for mine. It goes over the screen and it's great in daylight and you can concentrate more on the composition and focus simply because you can see. Check it out .. www.bentonjohn.com/Adapter/Winston.html
