I have a client shoting outdoors extensively
in variable sunlight with clouds and trees etc .
When the sun does appear
the effect on the dvx is overpowering.
use of filters to block up the shadow details and hold the highlights down is not always an option .
So me and the crew will try to controll the sunlight in tight shots
The budget is tight so ...
My idea is to build some diffusion screens using white see- through fabric (bed sheets ) and wood frame or pvc pipe ..Any oer ideas???
Any good homespun building or materials ideas are appreciated .
Also if anyone knows the cheap verson of bobinet (black fish net ) and a source that would be much appreciated .
Thanks
Bruce

I used a shower curtain as a diffuser on one occasion when I discovered that the grip truck we rented wasn't properly stocked. I Had a PA run out to a Target or Walmart to pick it up, it was cheap and did the job pretty well.

Go here: http://www.dvcreators.net/lighting/

and click on the "How to build your own Sun Diffuser" under the "tiplets" heading. I built several of these recently and they work really well. The largest expense was the material and I bought enough to make 3 for $30, plus another $10-$15 for the PVC

Peace,
Larry
