there's the first trailer of the film about the investigation over George Reeves' suicide. Adrien Brody, Bob Hoskins, Diane Lane, pretty good cast. And, I can't believe how much Affleck looks like George Reeves. He's even wearing the Superman suit. Looks pretty damn good.

Now, I don't want this to get into an Affleck sucks he should be kicked out of movies discussion. He looks great in this IMO. what do you guys think?

It feels like really poor timing, like it's some cheap scam to play off of superman returns.

As for the look, i loved it, affleck serves his purpose, and adrien brody is the man. They totally rocked the "look, everyone in this movie has an oscar" trailer edit. It's a shame the big comic book boys won't give up the superman logo to make this feel real, but that's almost unecessary anyway.

THE GRIM REAPER IS BACK!!!

i'm going to see this on friday when it comes out. Adrien Brody is one of my favorite actors working today, and Diane Lane is hot! It looks really good, even Affleck doesn't look that bad. anyone else wanting to see it?

Amen on Brody. I really liked him in The Jacket.

i didnt like the movie overall that well, but did like Brody's performance... he spent a lot of time in an isolation chamber to get into the role.

gee how did i know that you would come in and say that? ;) the guy isnt all bad... at least he won an Oscar for something good and not for some of the crap he's done lately... i think in the Who's Who thread we should put Jeremy Ordaning- "Affleck sucks. He should be kicked out of movies. The Oscars, who cares Ben Affleck has one"

I would have thought that I would fall more into the category of:

"This sucks but could have been cool if Rob Zombie directed it"

Or... overt sarcasm or selective quoting... I selectively quote a lot, huh?

Oooh, for the who is who, I would be that person who signs his posts even though he had either 2000+ posts or my name in my post...

saw this friday night.. here's my review. the movie was a bit slow at times. other than that, i loved the look of the film, the acting, the directing... Brody should be nominated for Best Actor, Affleck and/or Hoskins should be nominated for Best Supporting Actor (i'm leaning towards Hoskins cause the few times he's on screen, he's f*cking Bob Hoskins... nuff said) Affleck did a great job as Reeves. Diane Lane should be nominated for Best Supporting Actress. Brody's performance was phenomenal. He played the character very well. Even if you don't like Affleck, do yourself a favor and see the movie.

I haven't seen it but I did get to meet the editor, Michael Berennbaum, at an editing workshop in Manhattan. Cool guy.

The movie was pretty good, awesome acting throughout and yes Ben Affleck was actually a perfect casting for the part.

Diane Lane is really good and smokin like ussual.

I just saw this movie today. I loved the feel and the pacing. I'm normally NOT a fan of Brody but he was flawless in his performance. Bought every minute of it. I completely agree with you assessment of both Affleck and Hoskins. It's definitely the best performance I've ever seen out of Affleck...not that there are many. Diane Lane...stunning performance. How she didn't get nominated for that performance tells me no one is paying attention.

I could understand what the kids were feeling in this. I was almost seven with George Reeves committed suicide (or whatever) and just couldn't understand how Superman could kill himself. Watching made me want to find out more. So I spent some time reading. I now believe he committed suicide but I can understand why there are questions about it.

I went into this movie with some trepidation because its cast included Brody and Affleck, neither of which I particularly care for. I was pleasantly surprised. This movie is as good an example of Neo-Noir as has been made recently. Good music and great pictures. No, this isn't an academy award type of picture, but it's certainly worth the two hours and change I spent watching it.

Finally got around to watching this. This was a decent flick.

Affleck was really good in this. I think he taps into the pathos of this role because he shares some of the career struggle of George Reeves.

The theater audience were mostly in their 50's and 60's. I didn't find this movie particularly interesting because I don't really know the history of George Reeves and the controversy surrounding him. Sorry, I thought it was a forgettable film.

The cinematography and lighting were okay, but it really made Diane Lane look old.

You want to see forgettable, watch DePalma's Black Dahlia. I watched that last night. That was a stinker.
