Apparently "Hollywood" execs only have the one brain to share between themselves...

CBS’s new drama Numb3rs was produced by Ridley and Tony Scott and shot by Ivan Strasburg (Bloody Sunday).

"Produced by brothers Ridley and Tony Scott and their Scott Free Productions in association with Paramount Network Television , Numb3rs, the hot new CBS drama series, is, appropriately enough, about two brothers who help the Bureau solve a wide range of challenging crimes in Los Angeles. While the agent deals in hard facts and evidence, the younger brother is a math professor at a California university who functions in a world of mathematical probability and equations — thus the show’s title."

Hey, I may not watch it but I am all in favor of new fictional narrative episodic TV, especially if it is a hit. That's as opposed to these bulls*t reality shows that are everywhere. At least Numb3rs will hire actors and directors and cinematographers and grips and, and , and.... got nothing against folks working, just hope it's not a "runaway production".

Nothing personal Mino.

No problem...I agree, anything to put a spear through the heart of reality television. I too am tired of people tying cameras to trees at bus stops and selling it as real television!!!

I just don't like the use of the "3" in the logo. It makes "Se7en" less creepy.

I couldn't imagine anything makeing "Se7en" less creepy. But yeah the "3" in the logo is kinda cheesy.

Speaking of bad TV, I caught the first episode of "Into The West" last night on TNT. I was looking forward to it since Speilberg was Executive Producing. I had visions of "Band of Brothers". It sucked. It looked and was acted like it was a mini-series produced by Aaron Spelling in the '80s. I won't be hang out for this mess over six weeks.

Spielberg produced some other TV series a while back, I can't remember what it was, a civil war thing, maybe? I do remember that it sucked. He should stick to movies. We don't need acclaimed film makers making bad TV. Let's leave that to the bad TV producers.

Speaking of reality shows, I think they are here to stay. There seems to be an overwhelming amount of ordinary people willing to make asses out of themselves on national TV. Every network in the country is perfectly willing to let them do it too. I don't think it will be too long before we have total reality TV where people roaming around with video cams can get instantly "plugged in" to a satellite feed for simultaneous broadcast. Remember the movie "Freejack"? When Emilio Estevez was on the run and he showed up at some night club, a woman with a video cam fed his image into the pipeline and he was right up there on the Times Square monitor. How long do you think it will be until the networks are tapped into every major CCTV system in the country? The local news already shows us every car chase from the air in LA. Sounds kind of Orwellian doesn't it?

Throw in facial recognition software and database and we are there.

"Numb3rs" is a decent show. The whiz-bang mathematical theory isn't all that impressive, but it's written and acted well.

Sounds like they ripped off Brian Lumleys Necroscope books and the main characters use of the mobius continuim.

the title Numb3rs makes me want to kill someone.

The show might be good....but ever since I first saw the previews and the title *Numb3rs*....I've been rolling my eyes ever since. BLAH!!
