"hollywood" best audio Mic

Hi,

I'm sure you have all a big budget film, and you watch and listen and the audio is just very smooth and is of *movie* quality,

And im sure you have seen amature made films, and the audio is so cheap sounding that even if you have a *dvx100a* it ruins the movie like quality of the great picture because the sound makes it seem amature.

So my question is,

Which microphone can I purchase, and, "assuming" I know how to use it, will get the closest to a "pro movie" sounding audio?

Thank you.

Well, no offence but my question wasn't; "can you give me a link to a lot of posts that I have to read through to get an idea of what mics are out there that i could purchase"

Ive browsed many of sites looking at microphones, and you can be pretty sure that the more you spend the better the quality will be,

But....

I would like to know from some one with experience with mic's,

Which mic or mic's could I buy that will give me the closest to a pro movie sound with out spending 10's of thousands of dollars for a pro movie audio.

I think I would probly not wanna spend more than a grand but I'm open to options, Id just like to know how I can get that pro sound from what mic?

Dont take that and flame it saying im dumb and dont know anything, The point was that Ive read alot on this site and many other sites about mics and I got a pretty good idea whats a decent mic for money.

Well, I'm not sure what you're talking about, but I was simply linking to the audio forum since that's where this post should be.

Sorry to make you go through all the trouble of reading a forum just to know something as "simple" as audio for motion picture.

We here are not too found of repeating advice over and over, and the link to the audio forum is your best bet someone will take you seriously and actually answer what you are asking, even though your million dollar question was answered thousands of times (or do you actually think you are the only person that got interested in how to make good audio?).

The short answer to your question, there is a lot more to it than microphones, and if you are serious to know this, try reading a book. Jay Rose's books have been advised more than a couple of times. If you just want to spend 1000 dollars:

Microphone: at 4073
Boom pole: K-tek Avalon
Shockmount and Windscreen: PSC Zeppelin kit or Ktek Shockmount plus Fuzzy
Headphone: Either the Sennheiser HD280 or the Sony MDR-7506

Around 1K.

Jeez...
