HMI at these prices?

[Carlos_E._Martinez]

Looking for fluo heads, I found this place called Image West that is selling some HMI kits that seem like a very good deal:

Has anyone tried them?

A 420W HMI for $ 339 sounds like a steal for me, including the ballast.

Is there a catch somewhere?

The lamp is very cheap two, compared to other HMI lamps I have seen.

Aye, these have been discussed before, although I haven';t actually heard anyone's report on how they perform compared to HMIs.

These lights are really HID, not HMI, which is why the big price difference.

Someone needs to get one and report on its usefulness!
