HMC151 imagesettings for 35mm adaptor

Hi!

I've put a lot of time and effort in trying different settings with the gammacurves, and the detailsettings in order to get a good and rich picture with my adaptor.

Now, after a lot of testing and reading on the internet, people say that the B press setting is optimal when it comes to adaptors as this brings out the blacks more and makes the picture look better.
But, when it comes to all the other settings, should you shoot at with scene file 1 as this is the most neutral setting?

Shooting with CINE V or CINE D gives me to much cinemalook as the adaptor itself makes the colours look a bit like "cinema", so with the adaptor on it gets just to much yellow and gray-brown when shooting outside for example...

Whats the best thing to do in your opinon? Maybe you should just leave it at at neutral settings and adjust in post?
NOTE: I'm not after "general" camera settings, I'm after specific HMC15x settings =)

Thanks

what adapter do you have? interested because i would like to know the answers to the question your asking. I have a HMC150 with the sgblade and I've tried many different scene settings and still cant find a good one to use with the blade. I like to have a lot of freedom to edit the colors in post so i would like a scene setting that shoots flat. I think b-press is good if you don't really want to mess with the picture to much like simple color correction but if you want to do some heavy grading, b-press is not gonna give you too much freedom with out destroying the video. so if there's anyone in this forum with a hmc150/1 with an adapter or with out please let us know what settings you are using.

thanks in advance

I own a m2, but soon I'll place my order on a non-flip SGblade with RR2 actually =)!

My goal is really to make the image neutral so that there is some space for colourediting in post.. And the B press is (According to Redrock) a must have when
shooting because it brings out more details in the blacks...

Do you have any footage since im really curious of how the blade looks with the HMC? :laugh:

Barry Green was very kind and gave me some general tips via PM, thank you so much!

This is what Barry Green had so say;

Based on my experience with other adapters, in general I would recommend a little more detail and a little more contrast in-camera, so lower the master pedestall a few notches and raise the detail level by a point or two.

But really it comes down to your own personal taste; try it both ways and see what you prefer.

As long as you like the look of it, go with what you've got. It's all down to what you prefer. B.Press does sharpen up the contrast, so you may not have to drop the master pedestal as much. But if you think the image looks flat, consider dropping the MP.
