Joined this boards a couple of days ago and just wanted to say hi 
Really like the community here what I've managed to read so far.
I don't have DVX yet, as I'm still in the process of deciding whether to get it or XL-2, but surfing these forums makes the choice helluva lot easier... Tho, even if I choose Canon for some reason (like if get to see it's 24p in action and it somehow impresses me much), I'll stick to this boards anyway
I've been into filmmaking and films as long as I remember myself, making short movies as a kid and stuff, reading tons of books and spending countless hours in theatres... you know how it is
Reason why I never got to do anything serious was that at the age of 14-15 I realized that I can't take the look of the video seriously, I NEED 35mm hehe, but ended up studying law in college, mostly thanks to my parents 
However this year I'm finally attending film school and most likely dropping law... Yeah, I got brave enough to convince everyone, including myself, that I will be a director, I'm prepared to take this road.
A few months ago I concentrated on learning composing and visual effects on my PC, because a) was bored and had nothing to do ;D b) it'll prove usefull someday c) I was already good with Premiere, Flash etc. so I figured why not. And even though I wasted soo much $ on software and plug-ins, that it'd be enough for DVX with good lenses
