Hit the mark...I think

Mino

Northern Dreamer
Well...Final note on the show I was howlin and bitchin about. The show went off without a hitch last night, All marks hit on que, whole team performed flawlessly (gotta love when that happens, makes those little hairs on your neck stand up)
and client was mind blown by the quality of production. I mentioned to my producer, post show, that I would not be involved again at the rates he paid. My rates would double next year. His jaw dropped at the idea of paying three grand next time around, but when the client came directly over and bear hugged me while yelling something about the best Damned show they'd ever encountered. The look on the producers face was priceless. So personally I can walk away from this whole sordid affair feeling pretty damned good, knowing that I did what I set out to do I did to the best of my ability and that mr producer is in the corner. As martha would say were she not forced to keep quiet of late...."It's a good thing". And oh yes...I strong armed producer to pay an extra 500 bucks for this years work, not a lot but more than I was to receive....Mino out.

Very cool--it sounds like you nailed it. It does sound like the whole experience brought your skill set (including business sense) up to another level, and that's priceless. I'd be really surprised if that producer doesn't hire you again at $3K. You're still a bargain at double the rate, considering the amount of work and expertise involved.

This will be the roadmark to your kingdom. The title to Minoland is on its way. Nice stuff.

Re: Hit the mark...I think

Way to go, Mino! I love how you dealt with the money situation. Well done.
