Looking for films where the "hit-man" is the central character. I'm drawing a blank outside of a couple mainstream studio ones. Thanks for the help.

The Professional is the only one that I can think of right now that comes close... not exactly the lead character though.

Grosse Pointe Blank

The Bourne Identity (sort of)

Ghost Dog:Way of the Samurai

Perhaps Point Of No Return (Bridget Fonda), The Specialist (Stallone) might qualify, Road To Perdition?, . If you want to go non-english there is Naked Killer (Hong-Kong / Cantonese -- Funny translated English subtitles), and My Wife Is A Gangster (South Korea). That's what I can contribute at this moment.

"Leon" is my favorite. AKA "The Professional," as snodart said. It's strange that I can only think of foreign directors. No americans. Well there's this american movie made from the video game: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0465494/

edit--- No! french director after all! weird.

Um... every single Bond film

Debatable, as Bond is a spy first, and only assassinates when it's part of the job. He isn't contracted by random people to perform hits on others.
