Hiring a pyrotechnician

I am trying to find out what is involved in hiring a pyrotechnician to do bullet hits. I hear that squibs run about $20-30 a piece, you need a fire marshall on set, permits and insurance? Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks

20-30 bucks each? The person you heard this from has not bought squibs lately. They are up in the 60-100 range now. But yes on the fire marshal, permits and insurance. Also and this is where it is gonna cost you, a licensed pyro with squib gear. I don't know of anyone local, but beware there are a few people around SoCal that claim they are "licensed" pyros, but cannot or will not show proof. You need that proof, as using squibs can kill someone and you need to work with pros.
