Highly reflective green/blue screens, where to find

I've seen reviews for highly reflective fabric screens that have very low angles of reflectance, like scotchlite front projection screens and that are illuminated by circular led lights around the lens. Does anyone know who is selling these and does anyone have experience with them.

This idea sounds great, I worked with scotchlite front projection, and while it was a pain in the ass to get a good, realistic composite with it, getting an even colored back ground would be a snap. These new fabric backgrounds sound like they would work great on location. Did a search and did not find anything, any help would be appreciated.

definately not.. it was for a cooking show with Will Millar from the Irish Rovers called " Stewed " where guiness was flowing and Will was cooking with a 9" leprechaun dancing around in the background... dont ask.

The girl wasnt part of the show it was just the test... That's my girlfriend making sure the leprecaun green didnt mess with the key, cause you cant see it but there are 50 Blue LED's around the camera lens shooting blue right at her (hence lighting up the screen)

I actually have this setup, its called reflecmedia, a bogen company. Works very well, I did a little test for a leprechaun show with it here http://www.dvxuser.com/greentest.wmv

Well, that was an interesting clip. Ain't gravity wonderful (as it relates to elastic outer wear)!!!

Did you end up doing a composite with the footage? The lighting looked very even.

Did this system come with mounting frames and could you switch between blue and green? Is this system expensive? Next ?, who carries it?

I know, I can hear Rosanne Rosanandanna, say, "You ask a lot of questions"!!!

yes.. as you can probally imagine the composite is gonna be as good as you ever can get, there is no mistaking the blue. The mounting ring swaps out, just like a flash ring does. To be honest, you will hafta look at the website to find who has it because its been more than a year so i cant remember what I paid for it.

A comment on the green screen test clip I would make is that there is no apparent back or rim lighting on the girl.

It can really help a chroma key to have some light from the back. At the least it helps with the fringing and also adds realistic modelling to the subject.

(It is a rare situation in the real world where light is not surrounding a subject to some degree)

Shooter that was kinda the point of the test, was to show the screen under hard lighting without backlight... to see how the front light of the camera LED's worked, it wasnt so much a seperation test but a consistancy test with front firing keys. withough putting a rim light on the girl, considering the setup it worked pretty well. You are right though, if it was an actual seperation test your tips would make it perfect.
