Highest Quality Exports

This seems to be a running poll so everyone throw in their opinion or previous experience so we can all get the best from what we shot.
For the Highest Quality, what Export Settings do you use when exporting footage shot in 24pAdvanced, captured with the pulldown removal, & edited on a 24fps timeline?
I've tried Highest Quality quicktime at 24fps. Then checking the "high quality" in the "get movie properties" within quicktime pro.
I've tried Compressor M2V high qulaity encodes .
I've tried self-contained final cut pro movies (or non-self containted straight into iDVD).

I really can't tell. I mean often I'm disappointed with the quicktime files, it never seems to look as good as it does just playing out of final cut pro. Compressor's mpeg 2's are very impressive for the size but I'm in a 'size doesn't matter' situation, I strictly want the best quality.

So, what'a think...

A few points:
QT Player reduces the qaulity typically when it playbacks some codecs (such as DV). The High Quality setting tells it you're more interested in quality than speed. It doesn't affect all codecs and it doesn't change the actual data.

iDVD can't record 24fps DVD as far as I know.

Are you trying to DVD's or QuickTime files out at the end?

If this is straight captured footage or pure cut footage (no effects or manipulation) then saving it as DV will mean no conversion. MPEG 2 or other formats will require a conversion and will tends to reduce quality unless moving up to a high quality codec.

I wasn't really too impressed with Compressor's mpg's so I usually export as uncompressed (or photo-jpg when working with DV) and take that file to a Windows PC with Canopus Procoder where I encode it with 2pass VBR 7500-8500 mbit/sec.
