High Shutter Speed?

I'm currently working on a project using a DVX-100B and a DP who knows what he is doing so it's the first time I've worked with high shutter speeds in Vegas 7.0 and I'm having a likely typical problem. He shot it in 1/500 and it leaves behind the pulldown ghost effect when higher motion. How do I get rid of this? Is it something I can do once the footage has been captured or does it have to be done during the capture?

I think it's with pulldown but, you have every so often a bad frame that makes movement look like there is some lag behind it...or that certain object or person who is moving will have a see through trail of them beind them.

With a higher shutter speed, it seems to be doing this for every frame. I'll post a still for you later...right now I don't have the external hard-drive I am editing off of with me.

What camera did you use?

If it's 24p DV, simply dropping the footage into a Vegas 24p timeline will remove any pulldown, so you should not see any interlaced frames at all.

Maybe this will explain it better. Person on the rights motion is standing up.

I had the frame rate properties at 24.000 (Film) and I switched it over to 23.976 (IVTC Film) and it seems to have fixed the problem. Is this what I needed to do? I only just barely started working with 24p so I'm quite new to it.

My Video settings are...

Field Order: none (progressive scan)
Pixel Aspect Ration: 0.9091 (NTSC DV)
Frame Rate: 23.976 (IVTC Film)
Motion blur-type: Gaussian
Deinterlace Method: Interpolate Fields

You don't need a deinterlace method.

Just use the 24p templates (widescreen for widescreen footage, but not letterbox footage) and don't change anything. They are already ideal.
