High resolution photo or DV video?

I have a quistion about photo's vs DV video for greenscreen,

We want to film a person in front of a greenscreen, but i dont like the look of greenscreen images, you can -almost- always see its shot against a greenscreen if you are working with DV video.

Now i do have the option to use still photograpy, making it a stop-motion film (the camera can shoot many photo's real fast, so we are just making pictures while the actor is moving. Ofcourse it wont be look like video, you see its stop-motion).

The quistion, is a high resolution photo MUCH better than DVX DV-video for composting greenscreen? (i would make a sequence from the photo's and composing the same way as i would with video, so iam not going to photoshop 11.000 frames or so...)

Thanks,

Jerry

I do realise that this is a little bit of a strange quistion...
And ofcourse iam going to test it to see with my own eys what looks best.

Thefore, i dont think this quistion a very usefull. But the tested anwer is, thefore, i shall post my outcoming of the test in this topic. So that we all know if photograpy is better in greenscreen keying.

well in terms of pulling a key, it'll be much better with a still camera (higher resolution, no color sampling), but will you get sufficient frame rate??

You will get a better image out of the still camera, per image,
as the resolution will be greater,
but movement is another matter, keeping a consistant frame rate is hard to do with a still camera when the talent is moving, if your settings are correct and more importantly your lighting, the dvx should prove more than enough to pull a clean key.

Use an hvx200 to shoot it and you should have no green screen problems. The HVX shoots 4:2:2 color and DV is 4:1:1 color. Less green color info = bad keys

A while ago they invented a camera that would take lots of still photo's very fast. In fact they decided if they took 24 still pictures every second and played them back in sequence it would resemble the fluid movement of a subject. Nowadays there a few different companies that make such a camera and you can pull a great key from the footage.
You may want to look into this type of camera if you dont want to use a video camera.
