High quality sound effects and music library??

[brock2621]

I need a professional sounding audio CD set of music and various sound effects for my upcoming film. Could someone give me a link to a couple three sites that have some really good stuff? Thanks

A more "professional" site would be sound dogs. Soundfx.com seems to have the most common commercial CD collections but Sound Dogs has that and a large number of sounds you wont find on any CD.
One point however. "Professional" sound FX, ie what you hear in a movie theatre, are not bought they are created. What I mean is that although some of the source material may have come out of one of the CD collections films layer up a lot of tracks and it is very rare to use a sound bare. So you are very unlikely to find any sound on any collection that will give you something that will sound like a Hollywood movie.
Second point is that for many sounds it is better if you go out and record it yourself. You can get a sound that actually matches what you need rather than trying to fudge a canned FX into working. Of course there are many FX that are not practical for most people to record, it's very pricey and dangerous to blow things up for instance. So FX libraries are good to have.

i've actually spent the last two days, all day, looking for music, and most of that time was on sound dogs. yes it's good. so is shock wave sound.com.

Sorry didn't mean to impugn anybody what I meant and why I put "professional" in quotes is that Sound Dogs is a place that professional sound folks tend to go to more. Partially because they do a lot of recording and have a large library that we haven't all heard before.
