im looking for some sort of high pressure system to evacuate gallons upon gallons to create a geiser effect... i have air compressors but im not srue what i canuse to rig up the liquid so it can be continuously expelled in the geiser as aposed to a spray... any ideas?
I've read about setups where a ring of closely spaced nozzles will spew liquids upward to make it seem like there's a huge amount of volume erupting. I think it was used for the John Wayne movie "Hell Fighters" to simulate oil well blowouts.
A similar setup might have been used for the last scene in Mel Gibson's "Lethal Weapon" where they're fighting near a broken fire hydrant.
You won't need air compressors necessarily but a good water pump. You could have a pressurized water tank, I suppose, but unless it's proof tested for that particular pressure, and provided with an appropriate pressure relief valve, it could prove hazardous.
You need to go rent a portable hydraulic water pump - like the kind you see towed behind some forest ranger vehicles to fight fires with. Give it a god source of water; even a small pump can expel 180 gallons per minute.
Thanks for the responses. I've been spending alot of time with an air compressor and i realized the more I increased the bladder of all of the liquid I was expelling the more it spread out.
