High and low impedance, dvx and micophone.

I believe that's a pretty popular mic amongst dvxusers. Check out the audio forum. It has lots of advice, and I think lots of mentions of this particular mic.

Which DVX mic are you talking about? Are you talking about the internal mic or the add-on XLR mic?

Also, what are you planning on doing with the mics? Are you gonna mix them internally through the camera or what.

You shouldn't have a problem as long as you solo the tracks so the shotgun goes on one track and the DVX's mic goes on another, that way you can choose what sounds best in post.

Also you need to think of what your use is going to be for the mic. Thats a super cardiod so it's gonna be better at cancelling noise on either side of the barrel.

If you're willing to spend a bit more I would really recommend the Sennhesier me64. Runs about 500 with the phantom capsule, but the barrels are interchangeable, so you can buy different barrels with different pick-up patterns for about $200 a piece. I've tested it out in comparison to the Sennheiser 50 and 60, and it holds up quite well considering the huge price gap between the mics.

Hope that was helpful...
