Hi I'm new and have a lot of new gear!

Hi! I've been lurking here off and on while I made a big purchase. I finally got everything and have the awesome DVX100B sitting next to me on 24p, white balanced....Now I don't know where to start!

I've shot tons of weddings on a PD150 and VX2000, but this thing is awesome!
I won't be doing weddings but more sit down talking heads kind of stuff. Mostly web based, some may be used for conference presentations, business applications, etc.

OK I know I do have a few questions regarding my wireless mic setups, but before that, I'll list all the gear and hopefully you guys can offer up some praise/scolding :Drogar-Love(DBG):

-PortaBrace universal case
-DVX100B-duh...B&H sku PAAGDVX100B
-CGAD54 9hr lithium battery pack
-Smith Victor ProPod V w/ pro-5 2-way fluid head
-72mm UV filter
-Rode NTG-2 Basic Shotgun kit

-Samson UHF Micro M32 lav system, B&H sku SAUM32L350
a $60 bracket for a receiver which for me was dumb. I just tape the receiver to the tripod.

-Samson reciever mounting box....equally useless for the most part, for me at least

-AudioTechnica Pro-88W wireless system. I have 3 of these on 3 diff. channels. Is there certain times when I would opt for this VHF instead of the Samson UHF?

-3 XLR output cables, the kind of unbalanced input(?) with male XLR and male 1/8" mono male. I'm not sure about when to use these.
-2 AudioTechnica AT803b lav mics...Do I have to use the power module? My concern is the talen having to wear two "boxes" one for the power module and the transmitter...

-various lengths/ended XLR cables

-Sony MDR-7506 Headphones, these are COMFY!!

-Lowel Rifa Pro 44 kit with some extra lamps.

Has anyone used this light kit before? I'm going to set it up today and try it out with my ...

-PeoplePopper kit with a few backgrounds

The last thing that still needs to arrive is the Universal 15 inch teleprompter kit from Prompter People.

So, in a nutshell, that's it! I've just been hired by a great company to build their AV department. They got tired of hiring freelancers, so its my show now!

I'm thinking of getting a laptop and installing DVRack onto it. I'm really impressed by that program!

So, any thoughts? Suggestions? Praise? Scold for buying the velour backgrounds?

I do have some questions on the lav mics I got but I'll post that in it's own thread.

Wow...OK. I guess I none of this gear is terrible....though I do notice a big difference in the quality of the Samson UHF stuff compared to the AT VHF stuff. 78 views with no replies....yikes

your list looks good.
but just so you know, I also have the Samson Micro32 wireless and it has been very reliable for me. Theonly thing that bothered me was the inability to mount the receiver on a cameras hot shoe.
I solved that problem... I picked up a Sennheiser CA2 Shoemount adapter and went to Home Depot to pickup 2 small machined phillips head screws (that I sccrewed through the CA2's small holes, into the back of the M32's receiver). As such I can now mount it to my cameras hotshoe without any problem.
Just take along your reciver and the adapter when you go to the hardware store to make usre that the threading is correct.

Here's the link at B&H for the CA2 adapter:

Also the Rode NTG-2 is a great all around choice for a mic.
