hey dudes! long time...

i dont know if many people remember me, im sorry ive been neglecting dvxuser :cry: I started going back to school, got a new job, new girlfriend, new band, and i have been shooting a documentary about life in a carnival that is turning out awesome.. just have raw footage now, we should be done in the winter. Ill def post it when its done.

i've also stopped by to ask for your help. my new band The Smooth Hands (we play one minute love songs [mostly joke, but a little serious]) got nominated to play in this silly fesival and i was wondering if you would help us out by voting for us. hopefully it will be fun\funny.

i know its a huuuuuuge pain in the ass but i would appreciate it sooooo much. i love this forum and i miss it! ill be back full force in the winter, promise!

De ja vu. I'm having flashbacks of our little Apple Dumpling contest a few months ago.

I'd love to help but...it wouldn't be fair. We just had voting for dvxfest, and it would suck if someone went to another forum to enlist votes on a film that didn't deserve to win. :(

If there's a place to hear samples from all the bands I'll check it out and vote, but otherwise I can't vote.
 
agreed. if your band is percieved as the best , you will win. if not, then you dont deserve to win. your essentially asking us to help you cheat to win popularity contest.

ahhh, i think you guys have this contest wrong, its a popularity contest. the artist who has/had the most exposure is going to win regardless of how good they are (exposure does not = better music). if you look at how long the list is.. it is unlikely that someone has listened to all of the bands on it, therefore every vote is biased based on whether someone has either actually heard the music or heard of the band.

its a marketing contest. I'm just asking you guys for help. I would appreciate it. Thanks!

No offense Luz; but I'd rather vote for my legitimate favorite and not just to pad someone else's vote. Sorry; we had a case of morality at the Apple Dumpling Chick Contest (Even though the girl in question was the cutest anyway... :thumbsup: :) )

LuzCruz - When are you going to make another robot movie? The last one was a cliffhanger (The girl is moving away and the robot will be alone. Very sad.) Good luck LuzCruz!

no offence to anyone, but i disagree with what you guys are saying about voting. I remember seeing many instances on this board where we all pitched in to help vote for a fellow dvxuser in a similar situation. ive been absent for awhile, perhaps some things happened since then.. but back in the day it was really cool when we rabidly supported eachother.


pk - i dont think there is going to be another robot movie. i had a falling out with the chick in the movie and my roommate threw away my beloved robot costume :( oh well. but yea, look out for the carnival doc this winter... its shaping up to be amazing!
 
..what! :shocked: no robot sequel? that movie had me laughing so hard i couldnt breath... lol its still one of my favorites. in fact i mentioned it to someone just the other day i thought about it in a general conversation.

there was supposed to be a sequel.. but i dont talk to the girl anymore and its hard to get people to cooperate :(
