Hi-Hat

Man, why didn't anyone ever tell me how useful a Hi-Hat is? I picked up one on eBay to go along with my eBayed O'Connor model 30 head. I have had it about 5 minutes and I already wonder why I never had one! The hi-hat is 100mm, and I think my head might be 120mm but it works just fine.

yes.. invaluable hi-hats are. Wait till you strap it down to the hood of a car.. or put it on a counter top.. or.. man theres is a 100 uses.
 
still not sure what it does.

i play drums, and the only thing i hi hat means to me are two cymbals that open and close.
 
its like a really, really short tripod. You put your tripod head on it, and you can use your tripod head very close to the ground, or on tables, etc.
 
I considered building it, but I figured it would be kind of a pain to make the bowl so that I could attach my head. I figured having a working leveler would be awfully handy. I lucked out and found this on eBay. They seem to be overly expensive new.
