OK. I've been reading these boards, other boards and pestering tons of people on here for the past 24 hours. But I just want to KNOW what everything means, even if it's negligible.
I shot 24pA via firewire 800 live capture to FCP on a DVX100. As Noah has enlightened me, you can't do 24pA in live capture, so it was technically 24p without me realizing.
Let's pretend that some day I want to put this on a film print. What does 24p mean it terms of quality? Does 24p mean I'll always have ghosting or interlace issues? Does it mean quality lost forever?
OR
Does it simply mean I have to do more work in Cinema Tools to get it to where 24pA would have been within 2 clicks?
PS: I realize way back 24p had to have its pulldown removed via cinematools. However, we were able to remove the pulldown from this 24p footage by simply selecting the option in FCP (this is FCP 7). Have they since made it easier to deal with 24p footage?
