Hey all :) Time to buy a new camera!

Hey guys,

I'm new here!

I've been doing freelance videography for a year or so now, mainly using a Canon XA10. I'm now in the market for a professional video camera, so I came here for advice :)

Is anyone able to recommend me a camera? I shoot a lot of promos for businesses, events, and basically anything else the client wants. Not really into the wedding thing although I've done a few.

Probably going to go with an ENG type camera and get something with a larger sensor in the future.

I've been leaning towards the JVC HM600 but it's heavily marketed as a "news gathering" camera, which isn't really what I do. Plus there isn't much info about its performance yet... Any ideas?

Explore the forums and the threads -- there is much information there, and people asking the same questions. Many answers to be found.
