Helter Skelter - Adult Thread Stay Away if Offended

Someone in the Grabs asked/joked why I mentioned Helter Skelter......

And it dawned on me I wanted to share this with you people; you know who can handle it and who cannot and who just wont even look.

It started with anticpating The Devil's Reject's. Then, on another forum, someone asked 'Which was the favorite Serial Killer Movie (I chose Silence of the Lambs)?' which got me surfing around at films like House of a 1000 Corpses, Texas Chainsaw and Last House on the Left and of course stumbling onto the 1976 Helter Skelter film.

This is a film I remember from when I was 6 years old.

It dawned on me that I had no real idea of what happended sans the Urban Legend stuff and the general jist of the crime (Tate & Labiancas). Then I found this site:

Warning Adult Graphic Content Graphic Details and Crime Photos of the Murders

http://users.adelphia.net/~mansonmurders/

Anyway; I basically explored the entire site and am appalled and disgusted that this even happended. For those of you that choose to read 'Exactly What When Down' it is such a henious crime and callous disregard for human life it makes one sick even 30 years later.

The site even has 60's Wave Songs playing on each different page that just adds a creepiness to the whole morbid curiosity; one being Abigail Folger Page whereas The Carpenters "What the World Needs Now" is playing and I swear you want to cry as you read what happended to this poor woman.

The imagery and descriptions from this site have been burnded into my head. All of the killers are up for parole 'as we speak' and it appears a couple might actually get parole.

Anyway; feel free to discuss one of the more tragic events in crime history and what some people say was the End of the 60's.

Jesus Christ.

That is so ****ed up.

I honestly can't even talk right now.

Yuck.

How can people be capable of such as acts?

****ing monsters.

I can't even look at it anymore. Damn near puked.

That was the first time I ever saw a dead body.

Boy. Those tens of thousands of deaths you see on TV and movies ain't ****.

Gotta go recover now.

What can counter act me seeing something like this?

Maybe I'll go watch E.T. or something.

Damn...

Yeah, I did a little research on this a few years back. It's amazing what some people are capable of doing to another person. I'll never understand it, and that's probably why it intrigues me as much as it does.

That Sadie Atkins character is just the cream of that crop isnt she? To this day she denies any ' responsibility' for her actions. She is also married to a Lawyer (second marriage in fact)

Now, how does that work? On Planet Hudson, if you are a lawyer and you decide to marry a convicted felon; not to mention who who is responsible for 8 peoples deaths in a heinous fashion, you're being disbarred.

Who is this guy representing? "Hi, I need a lawyer cause I got a ticket...........is that your wife on the desk in the picture frame? Is that, Oh my....it's Sadie May Atkins?"

I mean she is married. Huh?

Yeah, I've seen enough Faces of Death videos and I'm done with it. As soon I the first page loaded, I just closed the link. Stuff like that just makes me uneasy. It's sickining!

Yeah that's pretty twisted. At the same time it's interesting that we have a fascination with gore/zombie films. Of course we have that internal sense of right and wrong, moral compasses, and we can seperate reality from fantasy and nightmares. It freaks me out that there are people who don't have that...

I can't remember where, but I saw an interview with Polanski after this happened and of course it really messed him up. :(

ive only got one phrase to say about those nassttttyy assss pictures...

WAT THE ****??!!@!!

there are some really FUKCED up people out there...

Gotta vent...

I'm usually an easy-going guy with an appreciation of humor.

However, I see those pics and it fills me with rage. I want to smash Charles Manson's skull in a similar fashion. I want to reach out and grab his ****in' throat with both hands and squeeze until my fingers break. Then, I wanna pound my fist into his face as he lies flat on his back unable to recoil from the blows. It makes me want to take all the rage I've ever felt or suppressed in my life and unleash it on him!

Man, I wish someone in prison would give them all what they have coming.

[deep breath]

I think I should pray now.

Manson is a HUGE target in prison, he's been set on fire, beaten repeatedly, etc. Even prison has a line for these sick bastards.

Bandwidth issues? I think the DVX Sqaud struck again as is always the case when one of us submits a link.

I read the first 21 Pages of Helter Skelter today via Amazon Preview and now must get the Novel. I remember this book 'laying around' when I was a child; my mother was a heavy reader. I remember even being freaked out by the FONT and COVER DESIGN ofthe novel when I was a child (Big Red Letters on Black)

Critics have called it:

"[A] social document of rare importance."—The New Republic

"One of the best crime stories ever written." —Chicago Sun-Times

I need to read this for some reason. I'm with Terry. It pisses you off to no degree. It's like "How dare you..."

There's no doubt the book had a major impact when it came out. I, too, remember seeing it in a bedroom at my grandmother's home when I was young. A rarely-seen uncle had brought it with him on a visit. The cover freaked me out, as well.

Although I can sympathize with the need to know more about what could cause someone to orchestrate something so evil, it still pisses me off to think that Mr. I'm-a-****ing-useless-evil-parasite-on-society is enjoying his notoriety (even though in prison) and that some people help glorify his name and image in Tee shirts, posters, etc.

It’s a tough one this. I’ve proberly seen the worst of the worst over the years. …Faces of Death…The Guinea Pig Series, The Toad King…Necromantik…Hunchback of the morgue…to name but a few…The guys I’ve met who are obsessed with this stuff, all hark back to the… it reminds you of your own mortality gig. I say we are all curious/ obsessed with death (even subconsciously) but there is a thin line…I have always loved gore but only when I know its fake…Necromantik (German, the most depressing film ever(a commonly employed device see:-Audition, DrillerKiller…) made me realize I didn’t want gore without…drama, comedy, thrills. IMOP the guys who dwell and promote/ enjoy these horrendous crimes are not to far removed from their subjects. I've also seen enough of the real stuff to know that there are some seriously ill people out there and always have been. I am interested in such stuff. Just don't like it when people bask in others misfortune. I did'nt like the rock from the fireplace thing.

My gosh....sometimes I think that some of us guys are just too much on the same level...

Two nights ago me and my woman get this old Faces of Death DVD (series is old, not the DVD) from her sister. I remember watching this stuff back in the day, never really bothered me before. We popped it in, and had to shut it off. There's just some really f'd up sh*& in that thing. Live animal eatings, sex orgy cults that eat dead people, and on and on....

I can take a lot, but that much, and that real, is just too much for my wee-wee stomach. Got the same feeling from that site John, that I did from another site: ROTTEN.com.

Just the strangest thing that the other night, after about 10 years, I watch Faces of Death and get on to post a topic, only to find out that someone beat me to mentioning it.

You guys always beat me.....

Sick stuff tho....
