For some reason my fcp hd pro running on a new g5 dual 1.8 is no longer rendering audio...
when i bring a clip from the browser to the timeline (even a clip previously rendered normally), and press apple+R or sequence>render>all or audio, etc...the render box appears for a millisecond then dissapears...i tried rebooting, etc...no luck....thoughts anyone....SO frustrating..
thanx

Re: HELP!

Option R -- but you still have to go up to the Sequence - Render All and select the color lines you want rendered. Maybe your audio lines got turned off.

I also like Option Apple R!!

Good luck,

CaptM

Re: HELP!

F@#k!
Alt + R worked fine for awhile then i took a few hour break w/computer running...came back, tried it again and no luck...
now, both "apple + r" and "alt + r" fail to render files....
so frustrating....!!!!
brand new g5 and a non bootlegged copy of final cut pro 4...
thoughts anyone?
thanx again

Re: HELP!

What color is the render bar? On timeline it should indicate if anything has to render. Go the the Render menu items and make sure to render all for both video and audio.

Re: HELP!

Render bar is Red (audio)...
according to my editor, she's seen this before...doesnt know the solution...(sometimes it starts working again)...cant believe my editor and I are only 2 who've experienced this.....thoughts ANYONE?!?!?
thanx again

Re: HELP!

What rate is the sequence audio configured for?
What rate was captured?
You should shoot and capture and edit 48khz. Otherwise you'll have to re-render each time as you're finding out.
If you export audio from another app or CD try to convert to 48k as well.

Re: HELP!

all done at 48 khz....
Nobody except my editor and I have ever had this happen/heard of such a thing??!!
thanx all

Re: HELP!

sure.
they had me MANUALLY dump preferences by going to hard drive where they were stored, click/dragging them onto desktop, then dumping them and reentering new (same old) prefs.
thanx again all
