does fcphd import 24fp & 24pa? also, if i wanted to do basic cuts for narrative style projects and a few music video's, should i go for fcphd or fcp production suite? i will be working from a 15" powerbook w/ 1.67ghz.

You a Student?

You a Student?

You can't use Motion on your powerbook. If you are not doing any motion graphics or DVD authoring, then just get FCP. If you are a student and are upgrading to a G5 soon, then definetly get the production suite, worth it at $499!

So,here are the system requirments for motion, and specs on the 1.67 book.
Are you sure JoeFowler?

Sure its not the fastest machine but...
I wish I could get one too.

There is (was?) an application that you could run to see if Motion will work on your machine.
One of the biggest issues, especially for speed, is your display card.

I guess that was the problem my buddy was having with his powerbook. It may work, but I am using a G4 at work and I can't seem to do more then one thing at a time, which may be due to the 733 MHz and 1 G of ram. Slow but what can I say, it's not my personal machine.
