I borrowed a Macbook Pro from a friend which was loaded with finalcut 5.14. I was downloading all my 28 hour mini DV (SD) film clips thru a fire wire as it was portable and convenient at that time.Suddenly my friend pulls out her powerbook and thats ok I thought so transfrred all film clips to a lacie and eventually to my tower G$ equipped with Final cut 4. The project file from the laptop does not open understandably since it was with finalcit 5.14 and I only had final cut 4 in my G4 tower. Now its the Quicktime clips.it looks normal and plays when clicked but when placed on a Finalcut 4 time line, there is no sound at all.

How do I remedy this.Is it a simple upgrade? have deadline to meet and upgrades has to be ordered takes a month in my country. What is my best bet using just my G4 with finalcut 4.Thanks

Well that shouldn't happen. If the sound is playing in Quicktime, then it should be okay in FCP 4. Can you see your waveforms on your audio tracks?
