Interview this friday in both field and studio.

Equipment to be used:

SD 302
(2) Sennheiser G2 wireless
(2) Countryman B6 lavs
(1) oktava hyper on boom in studio
(1) Senn 416 on boom for field

No separate audio, direct to camera.

Have 2 days to learn. Any words of advice on setting up 302/adjustments and what to look out for in the field. Will not be able to hire mixer. Will read Jay Rose's book tonight.

TIA

I don't think you can finish Jay's book in 1 night, but at least read the section about good mic-ing techniques.

Some suggestions:

- Set the G2 outputs to mic level and use the pre-amp in the 302
- Pan the 2 G2's to 1 channel (either L or R), and the boom mic to the other channel. If you get a radio noise hit, it will only be on 1 channel
- Set the volume levels so that it peaks at a few red bars on the DVX's audio meter. Try to keep volumes on the mixer and camera near the middle settings.
- Test everything first

Im using Sony Z1Us for this. I cant find the damn manual for the 302. Will check website. Do the B6s need wind protection? if so what do you recommend? Will shoot in San fernando valley so it does get windy, but this week should be ok.

I am using a Rycote softie for the 416. Want to be sure Im hooking this up properly.

the b-6 bcomes with foam which not really helps in high wind ,if it hit hard place the mikes under shirt
