help with slo mo conform in FCP/Cinema Tools!

so i read through this:
http://philipbloom.co.uk/tutorials/how-to-turn-50p-and-60p-into-slow-motion-with-cinema-tools/

which basically shows you how you can conform a 60p shot into slo mo using cinema tools. he shows going through the motions of log and transer importing and his clip shows its (i believe) 50fps. well i'm bringing in HVX200 footage that was shot at 720p60. But whenever I bring in my footage it says its 23.98fps no matter what. I also downloaded Sonic's GH1 footage (since the footage Bloom was using in the video is from GH1) and went through the steps on the 720p60 shot Sonic took. Well guess what, it STILL comes in at 23.98! Whats going on? What am i doing wrong? What step am I missing? Because when I bring these into cinema tools they are already 23.98. I want them to be 60p like they were shot and conform them to 23.98 to make them slomo.

(to clarify on the HVX footage I am dealing with normal footage that was not set to 60fps. it was set to shoot at 24pn. but shouldn't Bloom's process work for these shots too? and if not, why is the process not even working for the Gh1 720 shot I have?)

thanks!

Not having looked at that link, I assume he is doing something I've done for years.

If you have 60 frames per second and conform those 60 to 24fps it takes the first 24 frames of the 60 and calls THAT one second.

Ergo -- if you take the first 24 frames of 24fps material and call that one second... well... you still have the same 24 frames in the second.

So... to answer your question... NO.

Good luck,

well what i mean is that the hvx shoots at 59.94 so how in the world do I bring that footage onto my computer at 59.94 so that I can bring it into Cinema Tools to make it slomo? also - for my second test I used the SAME kind of footage Bloom was using for his example (footage from GH1 which is 720p60) so why is it that my 720 file is 23.98 once i bring it into FCP, how can i keep it at 60??

I'm sorry I was basing my answer on this.
