Help with remembering a movie!

Okay I can't remember the name of this movie but I do remember a bit of the plot:

I think it's an 80's movie and it's either a guy or a girl wishes that he or she was a girl or a guy. As in, gender change wishing.

It was a teen movie and a scene involved the guy or the girl sitting on the roof with a telescope with a friend and wishing on a shooting star.

The person actually gets the wish but I can't remember what happens in the movie.
